so many updates!!! you can’t handle it!!!

Last Friday was the Art Whino (right in old town near the blockbuster) opening party. It’s a really cool space, and SUPER huge. There was some really fun art. And free food and soda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG SODA No, but reaLLy check this place out, it’s fun.

They had this insane projection on the side of the building.

so neat!!!!

Day after that was the gulu walk, hollaaa.

Then that night was Stars. The show was really pretty. The stage was covered in flowers and framed pictures and things. It was cute. Again again sorry for the B A D videos. I’m afraid of another “venus” incident.

so excited for halloween + morrissey on friday night
Rilo Kiley was good, they sounded great and Jenny was cute. Lots of seventh grade flashbacks. hahaha I’m not sure I was into her silver lamé hotpants though. Grand Ole Party opened. They were awesome, very entertaining. The lead singer/drummer reminded me so much of Karen O.

!!!!!Thennn that friday night was Animal Collective!!!!!! I can’t really say exactly how excited I was to see them. I was having serious heart palpitations though. The only way I can really describe their show was like dancing in a muddy rabbit hole with thousands of other woodland creatures while drowning in their music. I think I got raped like 500 times. The crowd was great even though apparently animal collective fans don’t brush their teefs. It was a really unique fun fun crazy show. They played lots of new songs I loved (DREAMER**HOUSE**BEARHUG**) you can hear the entire beautiful show on NPR: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14564305
WHO COULD WIN A RABBIT (this sounded SO COOL i wish my video was longer)
PAPAPPEACBONE
WE TIGERZZZZZZ (they closed with this it was crazy.)
the end of DEREK!
FIREWORKS
oh yeah also, being a serious costume fanatic, it made me happy to see people dressed up for the show! oh and sorry for the shit videos. think rabbit hole. you dont get good videos in rabbit holes! i personally think they look kind of cool though.

Monday night devendra banhart played at sixth and I synagogue and it was the most beautiful show you could ever possibly witness. They played right in front of the Torah and were flanked by two menorahs haa. Every member of his band is so incredibly talented it made my heart stop. And Andy Cabic was there being all cute too. (you might remember that name because last winter i think i had like five posts dedicated to him) In short, the show made me only want to listen to Devendra for the rest of my life and be jewish. Such a perfect show. TOO MUCH TALENT!
At the Hop (the video is bad b/c i was trying to be sneaky but JUST LISTEN to how beautiful it is jesus christ SO BEAUTIFUL BEAUTY BEAUTY yeah iwas crying SO WHAT)
SAMBA VEXILLOGRAPHICA (eveyrone ran up out of their pews and started dancing)
CARMENCITA (a new favorite of mine)
SHABOP SHALOM (soo perfect.)
LOVER (keep your eyes on his hips. his dancing is salvation)

Last weekend my dis-band-of-sorts played in the flesh as well.

I am told it was a deeply spiritual event.
