Wednesday night was the sartorialist reception and the jeff lewis/cribs show. Both were fun. Adamson gallery was super packed with attractive people and the thermostat was on 81 (yeah i checked ok). It was awkward/nice. Scott Shuman is tiny/has lots of suitors.

Then I walked down the street to see jeff lewis. He was eveyrthing i had hoped for. He played with his girlfriend and his brother Jack, they sounded so fantastic. My favorite songs of the night were Champion Jim (with his comics projected onto a sheet), Don’t Be Upset, and one of the best Crass songs, I ain’t thick its just a trick. Jeff and the jitters were so special and down to earth and sounded damn fine. I’m so happy I got to see him.

 

Ra ra riot was next. They didn’t sound too great, pleasant, but I guess it’s hard to follow up such a unique artist like Jeffrey Lewis.

 

And then los cribs. I saw them my freshman year and remembered them being loud and sounding the same on every song, which was the case this time too but it was still a really fun set!!!!! Even though a lot of their songs sound alike they put on a great live show. I really enjoyed their set. And they’re cute. Kate nash was there lookin a hot mess, i guess she’s probably dating one of the brothers???

Dan Johnston

Before the show downstairs dan was smoking inside and a guy who worked there came over and bitched him out, dan proceeded to extinguish the cigarette on the wall, and the staffer flipped out and dan looked like he was about to cry. He was shaking so bad. I can’t believe the guy didn’t know who he was! Or maybe he did and felt like making all of my organs fall out my ass. The show was really really wonderful and special.

Wednesday night Scott Shuman, the sartorialist, is gonna be at adamson gallery. I’m gonna try to go to the reception before jeffrey lewis. What should I wear?! I bet lots of hoity toities are gonna be there. I gotta look flyyyy.

And also everyone should come see RA RA RASPUTIN open for bodies of water backlstage at the black cat thursday night. They are such a great DC band, their shows are crazy and lots of dancing and fun!!!! come!!! and wear neon or pastels!!!!! You won’t be sorry!!!

Not dead yet!

Sorry for the lack of posts. I’ve been debating whether or not I’m going to keep doing this. I’m thinking if I do it, it will just be the normal show videos, maybe some fashion posts, and artist posts? Does that sound good to every/anyone?
