How ’bout that iPhone?

iPhone

The iPhone, I think, is probably the coolest phone Apple has yet to release. It will be released in June of 2007 with the exclusive carrier of Cingular Wireless. That’s right, the coolio orange guy who reminds me of fruity flubber.

You might be asking, “What does the iPhone have that my blackberry doesn’t?” Well, Citizen X, the iPhone is not Mac OS X based now is it? I’m not exactly sure that the iPhone is, but it certainly does have OS X. Sure you can check your email on both machines, but does it look as cool on the blackberry? Does your blackberry let you play music, and movies, and look at pictures? Does text messaging on your blackberry look like iChat? Does your blackberry have a cool touch screen? Does your blackberry have GoogleMaps and whatever widgets you want on it? The answer to all of these questions is, “Not really, no.”

Some people get worried about the iPhone having a touch screen display. They believe that they might accidentally hang up a phone call while the phone is touching their face. Well, the iPhone has a “smart” sensor that magically knows when the phone goes up to your face, and it turns off the display. So now you can go to sleep peacefully knowing that accidentally ending important phone calls is not going to happen.

For those of us who are afraid of all those nifty gadgets and the touch screen display, we can get the other iPhone, or what I like to call the “coolPhone.” (NOTICE: Some assembly is required.) This is the phone for everyone who is afraid that they are going to break a phone with so many features. All you need are two rubber bands, an iPod, and a cell phone (preferably a brick phone). There are only two steps required to create this beauty:

Step 1) Put the iPod, screen facing out, on the side of the phone.
Step 2) Secure the iPod onto the phone using the rubberbands.

Here’s a great advert for the “coolPhone” . . .

Then there’s Linksys’s “iPhone,” which nobody knows about. This phone is like that kid in the class who nobody ever realized was there. It is like the school principal saying, “I’d like to congratulate Mrs. Johnson’s 2nd grade class, oh and, that other kid, too blah blah blah…” That “other kid” is Linksys’s phone. Sure they are VoIP enabled, which let’s you talk through the internet using Skype or Yahoo! cutting costs tremendously, but who cares?

We live in America, and in America, we don’t care about saving money. That’s why we have credit cards.

So really, if you’re looking for a new phone come this June, I would recommend either the iPhone, or the coolPhone. Even if you don’t need all of those features or Cingular is not offered in your part of the country, get the phone anyway. Everybody else is doing it, you should too!

P.S. I think this is pretty accurate.
